Atlanta United announced today it has loaned defender Aiden McFadden to Memphis 901 FC in the USL Championship for the remainder of the 2023 season.
The former Notre Dame standout has started all 12 of his appearances with Atlanta United 2 this season. His best performance came on June 26, 2023, during ATL UTD 2’s 4-2 comeback victory over NYCFC II when McFadden netted his lone goal of the season on a give-and-go blast from inside the left edge of the box. The 24-year-old made his MLS debut against Colorado Rapids on March 5, 2022, after being drafted 59th overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. Before Atlanta United 2’s move to MLS NEXT Pro, McFadden became a staple of ATL UTD 2, scoring eight goals in the 2021 season.
Atlanta United (9-7-8, 35 points) returns to MLS Regular Season play Sunday, Aug. 20 vs. Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. All Atlanta United matches are available with an MLS Season Pass subscription, located on the Apple TV app.
