Westside Provisions District Farmers Market has teamed up with Atlanta-based company Sourcify to implement Sourcify Farm, a service that allows customers to pre-order fresh food and other goods from the farmers market. All orders will be pre-packaged and available for pickup at the Sourcify stand each Sunday.

In the age of on-demand food services and one-click purchases, Sourcify Farm is a glimpse of the future of farmers markets. This new application, exclusive to the Westside Provisions District Farmers Market, hopes to provide a fast and instant option for locally grown, organic products. Users simply go online, choose the items they would like to purchase and pick up their orders at the market  before 1 p.m. Customers can choose to spend some time exploring the market or use Sourcify’s reserved parking spot for an on-the-go shopping experience.

“We are aiming to bring locally sourced, fresh food to members of the Atlanta community in a fast, easy and accessible way,” said Laurel Hoover, founder and CEO of Sourcify. “Sourcify Farm will not only help farmers market patrons receive organic products at the click of a button, but will also boost traffic for the farmers market and help our local farmers sell more produce.”

Sourcify, a technology startup in Atlanta, is a cloud-based platform built to promote energy efficiency and green living initiatives. The company is working with Community Farmers Markets to implement this platform exclusively at the Westside Provisions District Farmers Market, but the organizations hope to expand Sourcify Farm to other markets around the city and see its success continue to flourish in the coming months.

The market is open each Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 10 through December 18. The market features a vast array of products and produce from Georgia farms and businesses as well as live chef demos, music and entertainment.

As farmers markets continue to gain popularity, this is just the thing to help future customers get acclimated to the market experience. We’re looking forward to using this and supporting the locals!
