Music Monday: QUIX ft. Sanna Martinez, Anna Lunoe, Defoe, Lauren Duski, and Charlie Freeman

Showing off his versatile production style once again, New Zealand’s QUIX showcases Sanna Martinez’s silky vocals on a tension-building intro before unleashing a gargantuan multi-layered trap drop on the Dim Mak single, “Guiding Light.”

“Guiding Light” follows QUIX’s recent Dim Mak releases “Berserk,” “Stronger” and his breakthrough Illusions EP. Through expertise precision, “Guiding Light” explores the balance of light and dark, contrasting the airy elements of Martinez’s vocals over a heavy, reverberating soundscape.

Known for her dancefloor bops, unmissable DJ sets, and top-notch curation skills, Anna Lunoe is now leading fans to the Right Party with the release of her new EP, out now on Mad Decent.

With two previously released singles – “303” and “What You Need” featuring Wuki –  and two new bangers – “Right Party” and “Creep” – the EP packs the perfect knockout punch for summer 2019. Both new tracks feature vocal chops from Anna herself, and while the title track has high energy, bouncing bassline, “Creep” is a darker dancefloor track. Right Party comes hot off the heels of Anna’s “303” remix package, which was home to funky remixes from Flava D, Ninajirachi, Jay Robinson and Odd Mob. Stream the remixes here.

Defoe was born in Southern California and grew up on a steady diet of golden oldies from her father’s radio, classical music, motion picture soundtracks and artists like Patsy Cline, Connie Frances, The Beach Boys, the Beatles, and the Motown sound, along with composers such as Ennio Morricone.

The multi-talented musician/producer/mixer, who’s no stranger to the studio, has been recording since the age of 9, co-producing successful albums and scoring the soundtrack to a feature-length film. Indie pop artist Defoe released her debut album ‘Too Soon To Cry’ on July 1st. The music video for the first single “In Other Words” has already racked up nearly 32,000 views since its release.

Nashville’s country singer-songwriter, Lauren Duski is thrilled to unveil the music video to her single “The Weather.” Lauren wrote, directed, filmed, and edited this video on her own. The video is all about her grandfather losing his love of her life, her grandmother and showcasing the raw footage of the love they had for each other.

“The Weather” is off her debut EP, Midwestern Girl that charted at #26 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and #47 on Billboard’s Independent Chart. Midwestern Girl is out now and available at http://smarturl.it/MidwesternGirl

London-based singer/songwriter, Charlie Freeman, better known as FREEMAN, is here to deliver his new single, “London Nights”  ahead of his sophomore album, Love, due out September 30. In 2018,  FREEMAN released his debut album Truth, which was recorded live at vintage studio Eastcote using a tape and analog set up, adding to FREEMAN’s authentically classic sound. The first five singles from Truth have all picked up BBC radio play, including a live session at BBC London and “BBC featured artist of the week.”
