As wedding festivities commence on an idyllic Greek island, a young bride-to-be schemes to discover the identity of her father from among three men from her mother’s past. Through the eternally catchy score of ABBA chart-toppers, the hilarious and touching tale of daughter, mother, and would-be dads crescendos to an exhilarating finale celebration you simply can’t resist.
This pop Broadway musical sensation features some of ABBA’s biggest hits including “Dancing Queen” “Take A Chance On Me” “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme,” “A Man After Midnight” and many more. With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjørn Ulvaelus, and some songs with Stig Anderson, Mamma Mia! was originally conceived by Judy Craymer with a book by Catherine Johnson. Additional material and arrangements are by Martin Koch.
City Springs Theatre’s production is directed by Broadway’s Kristine Reese and Billy Tighe and choreographed by Cindy Mora Reiser, with vocal and music direction from Ben Bryant and Chris Brent Davis. The creative team includes Mike Wood (Lighting Designer), Jon Summers (Sound Designer), Russ Williamson (Properties Design), Paul Riner (Costume Coordinator), George Deavours (Wig Designer), and Front Row Theatrical (Set and Costume Design).
In order to bring Mamma Mia! to the stage safely for audiences, City Springs Theatre Company will present this production at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre (formerly Verizon Amphitheatre) in Alpharetta. COVID-19 protocols will be enforced via state and CDC guidelines at the time of the performances.
